Will Corona/Covid-19 virus result in a cybercrime or Data protection issue in the U.K? What does hand sanitiser have to do with cybercrime?
Okay so I’m coming at this as a disruptor yet again. I have been watching the widespread sharing of information both in the information highway that sits between our ears and that of the very space you are reading this article on and I am speculating with a generous amount of artist licence and imagination based in very real issues and practice.
After a few calls this week with numerous people ranging from clients, to colleagues, businesses and larger organisations I realised that I am saying the same thing over and over again just in many different ways. Today the penny clanged about why this may result in an issue on the frontline practice of untrained, uneducated in cybersecurity, self-employed, service based therapists or indeed practitioner of any sort to be fair.
There is likely to be an occasion or two where the panic gets the best of either a client/patient or the therapist/provider in the next few weeks or months. Which will result in a contingency plan. This all sounds good for now. Until you see things through the eyes of someone who looks through the lens of cybersecurity, safeguarding and therapeutic services on a daily basis.
