Why ‘screened out’ bombed out and the social dilemma used tactics to silence their rivals?

A few weeks ago I spoke to an organisation I am part of called AACOSS about the documentaries that I am succinctly paraphrasing here. (Minus most of the swear words)

Could it be that you don’t know about ‘the other’ documentaries that aired around the time of the social dilemma? Or perhaps the docu-films that are now being created and shared on other social media platforms such as YouTube? Could it be that algorithms ensured that you saw the Social Dilemma, based on the very same issues raised in the documentary?

*Did they use manipulative and persuasive tactics and marketing to be the highest rated/watched and discussed program?

(*could it be this kind of approach came from the school of BJ Fogg?)

Given that some of the same actors appeared in the other documentaries why have so few of them discussed this on social media?

And why does pretty much the same narrative appear in all of these films, documentaries and dramas based on a skewed appearance of professionals and mostly lacking cyber psychologists and researchers from this domain who may not necessarily agree with the prime approach? For example, the Oxford Internet Institute? Have we lost the capacity to provide a balanced…
