The innocent casualty of the porn industry; Child abuse of the developing baby.

WARNING THAT THIS BLOG MAY BE UPSETTING FOR SOME READERS.

It is well documented now through studies of intergenerational trauma about the impact on DNA and how this can be carried from one generation to the next. The most famous image that depicts this shows a grandmother (generation 1) carrying her baby, the Mother in utero (generation 2) and the Ovum with the egg of the Child (Generation 3).

This image shows sits alongside a story about Grandmother experiencing a trauma (for example her husband dies suddenly) and how this internal trauma/stress is passed to the Mother and Child.

When the child is born, through the lifestyle they are subjected to; which will included diet, social standing/poverty, sleep quality, empathy, un/caring parents, education, life events and so on this can impact the expression of the genes they carry through a process called epigenetics. In short this means life events ‘turn on/off’ the expression of genetics. You can inherit trauma.

Imagine for a moment what it would be like being that baby in the uterus as the mother becomes overly stressed and reacts to a trauma. Imagine if this trauma was a physical one? Do you think there would be a difference to how the baby experiences this? Would the feelings of the mother also be passed to the baby? What about…
