“Lolly Porn” how child sexual abuse has been cartoonified and adapted to make it sound appealing and less vile?

I have had to think carefully (again) about writing this as I’m sure the subject matter is going to be one of discomfort for many, outrage for some and perhaps fearful panic from others. The name of the article may leave you with that feeling of “really?” Is this what we really call this?

The conversation to be had here is disquieting as the topic matter has been raised on a number of occasions by my child/young people clients in therapy*. I can say this it has not been easy to sit with young people whilst they discussed this material knowing all I do about Cybertrauma, brain development/architecture, relational impacts and the lack of knowledge from the adults in their world that this material exists and is being watched by young people.

This topic is one that I feel needs to be aired and spurred on by John Carr’s approach to highlighting these kinds of conversations around social media sites and children’s access to the fetishes offered by adults looking to play out their sexual fantasies in a public space; I am bringing this short piece to you in a tentative approach to get…
