Cybersecurity and data protection for therapists working online? Why do we need this right now given the influx of online work? Why could your data be at risk?

IN FEBRUARY 2019 I sent this following article to a membership body. I was informed the members did not need to know about this topic as it was scary, it looked like I am selling my product (privacy4) and it had scared the reader. I have only told a small percent of my knowledge of the topic in this article and having spoken at a number of cybersecurity conferences I can tell you it gets much scarier than this.

My prediction is: Now there are approximately 1 million therapists in the UK going online to provide services there will be a high increase in cybercriminals exploiting the following kinds of issues, with emails being the first port of call for Phishing and Malware related scams, very likely looking like anything to do with the current crisis around Covid-19.
